Rams

At SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the Los Angeles Rams led the New Orleans Saints 17–7 at the half on Thursday.

On their opening drive, the Rams covered 95 yards and scored on a 2-yard throw from quarterback Matthew Stafford to wide receiver Puka Nacua. With 21 seconds remaining in the second quarter, the Rams added a 4-yard touchdown throw to Demarcus Robinson and a 21-yard field goal.

With 2:28 remaining in the second quarter, Saints quarterback Derek Carr found receiver Rashid Shaheed for a 45-yard touchdown pass, making the score 10–7. Carr completed 11 out of 20 passes for 163 yards and a score. His main target, receiver Chris Olave, with six receptions for 74 yards. Alvin Kamara, a running back, gained 10 yards on six carries. Shaheed's touchdown reception was his seventh reception of more than forty yards this season.

To begin the second half, the Rams (7-7) will receive the ball.

Puka Nacua has made a fantastic debut in the NFL with his ever-present smile, sticky palms, and some historically garish numbers.

His superb performance Thursday's effort may have been the best of an all-star rookie season, and it raised some rumblings that a quarterback in Houston isn't the front-runner for offensive rookie of the year.

The Brigham Young graduate scored a touchdown and gained 164 yards on nine receptions, setting a season record. Later, he proved invaluable in the run game and on special teams, helping the Los Angeles Rams defeat the New Orleans Saints 30–22.

Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford said on Prime Video after the game, "He's such a talented kid."

"Very happy. When asked about getting the Rams closer to the postseason, Nacua told NFL Network's Steve Wyche, "It's super fun." "I think we're playing some of our best football right now, and everyone is having a great time." Playing football is so much pleasure when we go out there because of our mutual confidence."

After the victory on Thursday and his impressive performance, Nacua now has 96 receptions for 1,327 yards and five touchdown catches. He is now tied with Bill Groman of the Houston Oilers (1,473 yards, 1960) for the most rookie receiving yards ever. He is currently third in terms of receptions and hopes to pass Anquan Boldin of the Arizona Cardinals (101, 2003) and Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins (104, 2021).
